Kandagiri Spg net marginally down

Kandagiri Spinning Mills Ltd, Salem, has seen an 18 per cent growth in its sales income at Rs 24.37 crore for the quarter ended September 30, compared to Rs 20.66 crore for the same period in 2005. Its profit before tax was higher at Rs 2.1 crore (Rs 1.5 crore). The company has provided for a deferred tax at Rs 61 lakh against Rs 12.5 lakh last year and its net profit for the quarter was marginally lower at Rs 1.19 crore (Rs 1.28 crore).

While the company has incurred a higher raw material cost of Rs 13.25 crore during the quarter against Rs 8.53 crore, its power cost at Rs 1.44 crore ( Rs 1.09 crore) which includes Rs 21.23 lakh pertaining to the period up to March 31, 2006 and interest charge at Rs 1.33 crore (Rs 1.05 crore) too were higher.
