Italian brand Geox to enter India

Our Bureau

Mumbai, Nov. 27

Italy's footwear brand Geox is entering India. The brand will be distributed through M&B Footwear, a vertically integrated footwear company, engaged in manufacturing and marketing of brands such as Lee Cooper, iD, and Provogue. The company also manufactures shoes for Reebok & Bata at its Baddi (Himachal Pradesh) plant.

M&B Footwear would be launching 10 flagship stores for the Geox brand with an investment of Rs 10 crore. Attracting steep duties, the Geox brand of shoes for men and women would be pegged between Rs 3,500 to Rs 8,000 in the Indian market. The Geox brand has a `breathes' patented system with micro-holes in the rubber outsole to let perspiration from the feet out of the shoes to keep the feet dry.
