Jetline launches `Big Time' retail watch stores

The city-based Jetline Group, engaged in manufacturing and packaging material, and software development, has entered the retail segment with the launch of `Big Time' chain of watch stores.

Mr Rajan Navani, Managing Director, and Mr Rakesh Navani, Joint Managing Director, told presspersons that the group is investing Rs 5 crore in the venture and has plans to invest another Rs 10 crore in a phased manner over the next three years. The company would be introducing Charles Delon (executive and jewellery watches), Elite (fashion watches), sports and utility watches by Speedo and Dunlop at its outlets.

The products available would be in the price range of Rs 995 to Rs 20,000.

Mr Rakesh said the company would be setting up its own exclusive brand outlets and kiosks in shopping complexes across the country. It has a brand outlet at the Metropolitan Mall in Gurgaon and one kiosk in Puneis In the next two months, one kiosk each in Mumbai and New Delhi and one brand outlet in Pune and Mumbai would be set up. This would take the total kiosks to three and brand outlets to three, he said while noting that all of them would be company owned.

He said the company would be increasing its retail network and has plans to set up 50 presence points in all major cities by the end of 2007.

Mr Rajan said that the company has its manufacturing base in Hong Kond and has also exclusive licensee and distribution rights for India for its other brands.

He added that all the parts required for watches were sourced globally and were assembled at the Hong Kong plant.
