Alliances & Joint Ventures States - Karnataka Xerox India ties up with Karnataka printers body Our Bureau
Bangalore Nov. 29 In a bid to create awareness about digital printing industry, Xerox India Ltd has announced a tie-up with the Karnataka State Printers Association (KSPA) and the Karnataka Government for setting up a print testing and training centre in Bangalore. The training centre was jointly inaugurated on Wednesday by Mr Katta Subramanya Naidu, Minister for Heavy and Medium Industries; Mr K.M. Shiva Kumar, Principal Secretary for Commerce and Industries, and Mr Andrew Horne, Managing Director, Xerox India.

The Xerox KSPA Print Testing and Training Centre will be equipped with digital printing technology from Xerox that will offer comprehensive modules on vocational skills to assist students with technical capabilities in the domain of pre-press, press, post-press and digital printing, said a company press release. The training centre will offer over 18 courses/modules and will have over six faculties and visiting experts from the digital printing industry.

The centre will have over 11 machines installed and eight computers to ensure on the job-training skills along with theory sessions. Mr Horne said this educational initiative will benefit 5,000 professionals annually. "As the industry grows and matures, it requires professional training and development of technical capabilities in an organised form. "The tie-up with KSPA is part of our long-term commitment to continue to grow the industry and be the first to develop a strong educational platform for the Indian digital printing industry," he added.
