IFMR gets recognition for business course

The course will be treated as equivalent to a MBA degree for pursuing a doctoral programme in India or abroad.

Chennai , Nov. 30

The Institute for Financial Management and Research (IFMR) has received recognition for its post-graduate diploma in Business Management course from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).

Due to this recognition, IFMR's PGDBM programme will be treated as equivalent to a MBA degree for pursuing a doctoral programme in India or abroad, says a press release from the Institute.

IFMR offers a two-year full time PGDBM with specialisations in Finance, Marketing, Operations/IT & HR that is already AICTE approved.

All students of the current graduating batch have already been placed in reputed corporates such as ICICI, Cognizant, Infosys, Satyam, HCL, Dun & Bradstreet, Cerebrus consulting and IL&FS, the release says.

Admissions for the 2007 - 2009 batch is now open and the last date for submitting applications is December 12. Application forms can be downloaded from www.ifmr.ac.in.

For the prospective MBA aspirants who have appeared for CAT, IFMR is conducting mock GDs & mock interviews in its campus on December 3 and 10.
