Airlines Thiruvananthapuram-Chennai daily service from Paramount Our Bureau
Thiruvananthapuram , Dec. 1 Paramount Airways has started daily flights on the Thiruvananthapuram-Chennai sector from Friday. Speaking at a press conference in the city today, Mr M. Thiagarajan, Managing Director, Paramount Airways, said the airline would operate two flights a day on this route. The airline will also offer passengers from Thiruvananthapuram connecting flights to Hyderabad, Coimbatore and Bangalore via Chennai, he added. The airline, which currently operates flights to various cities in South India, expects to have a national presence by 2009-10, Mr Thiagarajan said. It has a 23-per cent market share on the routes on which it operates, he claimed. Once it has established a strong domestic presence, the airline will look at operating international flights, he added. According to Mr Thiagarajan, the airline may soon introduce a `congestion surcharge'. Also on the anvil are interline agreements with international airlines. The airline expects to implement these agreements by February or March next year, he added.
