Rs 12 cr for North 24-Parganas

The Union Ministry of Rural Development has released Rs 12 crore during the current year as Central assistance under the Indira Awas Yojana to the North 24-Parganas district rural development agency, says a Press release.

The funds have been released in two instalments of Rs 5 crore and Rs 7 crore. The allocation for the entire year is around Rs 14 crore. The grant is on account of Plan expenditure and will be used for building of new houses and upgradation of `kutcha' houses to `pucca' houses subject to IAY guidelines. Expenditure on the progamme will be shared on a 75:25 basis between the Centre and State. The latter will be releasing its share within a month of the Central release of funds, adds the release.
