Bangalore , Dec. 5

Pro-FX, a high-end audio retailer, has entered into a strategic alliance with the UK-based Chord Electronics for launching the latter's products in India.

The Pro-FX Chief Operating Officer, Mr Manmohan Ganesh, told newspersons on Tuesday that Chord's products will be available in all its five stores across the country.

The price range for their audio equipment is between Rs 5 lakh and Rs 30 lakh.

He said some of Chord's clients include George Lucas' Skywalker Studio, Dolby Labs and A. R. Rehman's studio in Chennai. Mr Ganesh said Pro FX plans to add 10 more stores in another three years across the country. The market size for high-end audio products in India is around Rs 250 crore, of which only 40 per cent constitutes the organised market.

Mr Ganesh said the spend on a single purchase from Pro-FX stores has gone up from Rs 3 lakh in 2003 to around Rs 30 lakh in 2006. Pro FX is also the sole distributor for brands like Denon, KEF and IC Audio in India.
