Seagram India enters wines segment

Seagram India has entered the wines category by launching the Nine Hills brand in the country. Offering two varieties each in red and white, the brand is pegged between Rs 450 and Rs 550. The range of Nine Hills wines includes names such as Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chenin Blanc and Sauvignon Blanc.

Mr Param Uberoi, Chairman and CEO, Seagram India, said, "We will ensure optimal distribution across the key off- and on-premise outlets in each market that we enter. There are plans to have trials and events to push the brand.'' The company expects to manufacture 10,000 cases initially at its winery in Nashik.
