Growth disparities

This is with reference to "Speed-breakers to growth" (Business Line, December 5). The government's lack of will to push for reforms in infrastructure development and education is very discouraging. This apathy has resulted in lack of quality manpower, which is the need of the hour.

The drain of highly skilled persons to other countries could be checked if India offers them better conditions and opportunities. The farmer suicides in the FDI-rich State of Maharashtra makes a mockery of its growth. The government needs to reorient the development strategies to benefit all sections — the haves and the have-nots, the elite and the down-trodden alike.
