SocGen Centre to expand

Societe Generale Global Solution Centre (SGCSC), the global knowledge centre for the Societe General Group is expanding its operations in Bangalore. SGCSC has set up its third facility in Bangalore that can accommodate some 200 people and also act as the business continuity plan (BCP) centre. SG GSC currently provides services such as applications development & maintenance, infrastructure management services and financial accounting & performance management to Société Générale's business lines around the world.

"We have expanded our service offerings recently to include equity settlements and reconciliation process. To support our growth strategy in India, we plan to double our present manpower of 425 by December 2008," said Mr Ramesh Kumar, Managing Director & Chairman and Executive Officer of SG GSC.

Started in 2000 with 10 employees, SG GSC primarily caters to the financial software, R&D, IT consulting and project management needs of the Société Générale Corporate and Investment Banking Division.

It has now grown into a 425-strong company which provides end-to-end solutions to all business lines in the group, across geographies, including corporate and investment banking, international retail banking, asset management, private banking and specialised financial services .
