Bonds prices end flat

Bond prices were range-bound before it ended flat. Total traded volumes on the order-matching system were Rs 2,475 crore (Rs 5,390 crore). Dealers said traders were cautious ahead of the Rs 9,000 crore auction on Friday. "The market will not see any big moves until the auction," said a dealer at a private bank. They are also looking for a cue from the inflation numbers to be released on Friday. Market expects inflation to be in the 5.40 per cent-5.50 per cent range. Dealers said the bond market would continue to find support with the ten-year yield between 7.38 per cent and 7.40 per cent.

The 7.59 per cent-10 year-2016 paper opened at Rs 101.345 (7.39 per cent YTM) and closed at Rs 101.35 (7.39 per cent YTM), lower than Tuesday's Rs 101.38 (7.38 per cent YTM). The 8.07 per cent-11 year-2017 paper opened at Rs 104.73 (7.39 per cent YTM) and closed at Rs 104.75 (7.39 per cent YTM), against Tuesday's Rs 104.77 (7.39 per cent YTM).
