Mumbai , Dec 7

Glenmark Pharmaceuticals, a wholly owned US subsidiary of Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Ltd (India), has signed a supply and marketing agreement with Lehigh Valley Technologies for manufacturing and marketing seven products in the US market.

The products have a cumulative market size of $2.8 billion and belong to the controlled substances category, a company statement said. The products are used for pain management.

The products will be filed with the FDA under Glenmark's name and marketed exclusively by Glenmark in the US. The company expects to launch the products from 2008-09.

"Our second deal with Lehigh will establish our presence in the selling of niche products in the competitive US generics market. We currently market 10 products in the US and expect to end the year with 18-22 generics in the market," said Mr Glenn Saldanha, Managing Director and CEO of Glenmark Pharmaceuticals.
