Thiruvananthapuram , Dec. 8

The Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) is organising a seminar on `animation, gaming and visual effects' in the city on December 12.

The one-day seminar, which is being supported by the Kerala Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (Kinfra), is in keeping with FICCI's objective of fostering the growth of the Indian entertainment industry, said an official associated with the event.

35 PER CENT GROWTH

According to industry estimates, India's animation industry is expected to grow at a cumulative annual growth rate of 35 per cent and the gaming industry at 78 per cent. Taking note of the sectors' potential, FICCI has set up the FICCI Animation and Gaming Forum and the FICCI Visual Effects Community.

According to a Kinfra official, the seminar will focus on areas such as the importance of a good script, location and also look at case studies of animation work done in India.

The seminar will also include a presentation on the special economic zone for animation and gaming to be set up at the Kinfra Film and Video Park in Thiruvananthapuram, he added.
