Bajaj Auto: Betting on new moves

Marketmen are closely tracking Bajaj Auto, which on Friday dipped 2.28 per cent on the NSE, because of the company's plan to enter higher segments of two-wheelers and deepen its penetration into areas that are growing rapidly.

Some analysts nevertheless note that the 100cc segment provides it with good volumes and that competition in the industry will check the company's plan to fully pass on higher costs. The heavyweight index stock, which had its 52-week low at Rs 1,962.10, closed at Rs 2,643.50. About 1.3 lakh shares were traded on the NSE.
