Aviation MoU with US gets approval

Our Bureau

New Delhi , Dec 8

The Union Cabinet has given its approval for the signing of the MoU between the US and India for the development of an Aviation Co-operation Programme (ACP).

The ACP is to be a specific co-operation agreement in civil aviation regime for seeking assistance under the umbrella of co-operation framework agreement signed between the Department of Economic Affairs and the US Trade and Development Agency.

The programme would not only help promote increased safety, operational efficiency and systems capacity in Indian aviation, but would also facilitate and co-ordinate aviation industry training and technical ties between India and the US. It is also likely to lead to further strengthening of co-operation in the civil aviation sector between the two nations.
