Puravankara Projects Ltd will launch, within the next three months, major residential projects in Chennai. It has nearly half-a-dozen projects either waiting for planning approval or plans to be submitted for approval, according to Mr Ashish Puravankara, Director, Puravankara Projects. He said the company had about 100 acres on and off the Old Mahabalipuram Road, Chennai's IT corridor, and some smaller properties within the city in different areas. He declined to provide details about the projects on the ground that approvals were yet to be obtained.

Along the Old Mahabalipuram Road and in some places just off the IT corridor, Puravankara Projects, a Bangalore-based property developer, planned to construct nearly 4,000 apartments. It would also construct about 400 villas, all of which would be ready for occupation in two years from now.
