SEBI suspends broker

Mumbai, Dec. 12

SEBI has suspended Prashant J. Patel, a broker with the National Stock Exchange in the matter of Ranbaxy Laboratories Ltd, for a period of seven days. This order shall come into force after twenty-one days from the date of the order.

Further, SEBI has also reprimanded Wallfort Financial Services Ltd, a broker-member of NSE and Calcutta Stock Exchange, for artificially generating volumes in Ranbaxy.
