Deutsche Bank to expand here

Deutsche Bank has announced it would infuse Rs 1,125 crore ($253 million) capital into its Indian branches. With this infusion, Deutsche Bank India's capital funds would almost double from Rs 1,286 crore as on March 31, to Rs 2,411 crore.

A statement by the bank said that a remittance of Rs 500 crore has been effected and the balance of Rs 625 crore would be brought in the near future. This capital infusion is the second in two years, the first being a sum of Rs 419 crore in October 2004. "The significant increase in capital, is a clear indication to the bank's strong growth trajectory in India and its commitment to further development", Mr Gunit Chadha, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Deutsche Bank India, said.
