Mumbai, Dec 12

The bond market continued to be bearish. Total traded volumes were at Rs 3,215 crore (Rs 2,780 crore). The ten-year yield hardened by around 10 basis points. "There was all round selling and amid low volumes, prices fell sharply," said a dealer at a private bank. Market participants are now awaiting the US Federal Open Market Committee meeting on Tuesday. The 7.59 per cent - 10 year-2016 paper opened at Rs 100.42 (7.52 per cent YTM) and closed at Rs 99.73 (7.63 per cent YTM), down from Monday's Rs 100.36 (7.53 per cent YTM). The 8.07 per cent - 11 year-2017 paper opened at Rs 103.72 (7.53 per cent YTM) and ended at Rs 102.98 (7.64 per cent YTM), against Monday's Rs 103.7 (7.54 per cent YTM).
