Hyderabad , Dec. 12

IT services provider Satyam Computer Services Ltd has entered into a memorandum of understanding with the Government of Egypt that will pave way to set up a global development centre (GDC) in Smart Village, Giza in Cairo, Egypt.

The centre will accommodate about 300 resources over the next two years and serve as a technological development and software support facility for Satyam's West Asian customers.

The representatives of the Government of Egypt and Satyam signed the MoU in the presence of the Prime Minister of Egypt, Dr Ahmed Nazif, and the Satyam Chairman, Mr B. Ramalinga Raju.

Mr Raju said in a statement, "The announcement of the global delivery campuses in China, Malaysia and now the 300-seat delivery centre in Egypt is part of Satyam's commitment to building up an alternate workforce, a multi-country model and a global delivery approach.
