Rubber Spot rubber rules steady Aravindan
Kottayam , Dec. 12 The physical rubber prices closed unchanged on Tuesday. RSS 4 finished flat at Rs 85 a kg both at Kottayam and Kochi as trend setting TOCOM was slightly disappointing. The buyers kept a low profile on the grade and the arrivals were also narrow. According to observers, certain tyre companies have given quotes up to 85.50 a kg for sheet rubber.
Futures firm
The rubber futures softened in tune with the global trend except for its December contract, which firmed up to Rs 88 (Rs 86.82) a kg on NMCE. The near month January contract slipped to Rs 86.75 (Rs 87.21), February to Rs 88.25 (Rs 88.29) and March to Rs 89.85 (Rs 90.10) a kg for RSS 4. On MCX, the January contract for RSS 4was marginally weak at Rs 86.30 against Rs 86.43 a kg, while the transactions for the month totalled 755 (438) tonnes. Spot rubber prices per kg were: RSS-4: Rs 85 (Rs 85); RSS-5: Rs 83 (Rs 83); ungraded: Rs 79.50 (Rs 79.50); ISNR 20: Rs 82.50 (Rs 82.50) and latex 60 per cent: Rs 52.60 (Rs 52.60).
