RISING PRICE, FALLING EXPORTS: Workers grading cardamom at a farm in Mepady in Kerala's Wayanad district. Cardamom prices have improved on good demand and lower production. The weighted average price of cardamom this season starting July has been Rs 307.06 a kg against Rs 227.86 during the same period a year ago. Exports, however, have slipped during April-October to 310 tonnes valued at Rs 9.65 crore against 385 tonnes worth Rs 12.51 crore a year ago.
