Thiruvananthapuram, Dec. 13

The Thiruvananthapuram-based Ammini Solar Pvt Ltd has launched two new products; a solar lantern and a solar-powered uninterrupted power supply system.

Speaking at the launch function in the city, the State Industries Minister, Mr Elamaram Kareem, said the State Government placed a lot of emphasis on the development of non-conventional energy sources and will promote this sector.

Mr V. Subramanian, Secretary, Union Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, said that competition would help India's renewable energy industry develop and mature. Mr G.M. Pillai, Director General, World Institute of Sustainable Energy, also addressed the gathering.
