Singur crisis

This is with reference to "Resolving the Singur crisis," (Business Line, December 11). The Trinamool Congress Chief , Ms Mamata Banerjee, is on hunger strike, protesting against the handing over of agricultural land to the Tatas.

The Chief Minister is keen on his State being seen as an ideal investment destination and is determined that the project should go through.

One fairly simple way of solving the problem, it appears, would be to give the Tatas non-agricultural land instead. Politicians seem to be creating problems where none exists.
