Gupta Syn to set up new unit

Gupta Synthetics Ltd will be setting up a new unit in Silvassa to manufacture nylon tyre cord fabric (NTCF) and nylon filament yarn (NFY) for a total investment of Rs 223 crore. The investment will be funded by a combination of term loans and external commercial borrowings.

Both the units will have an installed capacity of 8,128 tonnes per annum each. While the NFY operations will start from October 2007, the NTCF unit will go on stream from March 2008. Machinery for the units will be sourced from Japan-based TMT Machinery, and Zimmer A.G., Germany. Shares of the company rose 8.24 per cent to close at Rs 271.40 on BSE.
