New Delhi, Dec 14

Sensing potential in the fast growing organised retail segment, consumer electronics major Philips today said that it was in discussions with major retail players in India, including Reliance Retail and Tata Group company Trent for a tie-up.

``We have initiated talks with major retail players, including Reliance, Hypercity and even the Tatas for tie-ups,'' Philips Electronics India General Manager (Consumer Electronics), Mr Shailesh Prabhu, told reporters here. He, however, reiterated that the talks were at an initial stage and nothing had been finalised yet. ``Our aim is to scale up volumes in India. We are already present in Big Bazaar and e-Mart,'' said Mr Prabhu, at the launch of the company's latest `Ambilight' flat TV display here.
