Mauritius to issue 60-day visa for biz travellers

Our Bureau

Mumbai , Dec. 14

Indian nationals travelling to Mauritius on business no longer need to apply for a visa.

The Republic of Mauritius will issue a 60-day visa on arrival for Indian nationals travelling for business purposes or tourism. The previous policy allowed for a 15-day tourist visa on arrival.

According to a press release issued by the Republic of Mauritius on Thursday, the move is an effort to increase business and tourist traffic from India.

Travellers will have to fulfil certain criteria on arrival in Mauritius to be eligible for a 60-day visa. They must have a valid confirmed return ticket, sufficient funds for the duration of their stay and eligible to re-enter their country of origin. Travellers wishing to extend their stay beyond the 60-day period will still need to apply to the Mauritius High Commission or the Consulate for a visa before they leave for Mauritius.
