People McCann Erickson India appoints Prasoon as Executive Chairman Our Bureau

Mumbai , Dec. 15 Mr Prasoon Joshi has been appointed as the Executive Chairman of McCann Erickson India. Mr Santosh Desai, the agency's President, has resigned from the company to start his own consultancy. Mr Sorab Mistry, Regional Director of McCann Worldgroup for South and South East Asia, said that McCann global and the regional management recognises Mr Prasoon's contribution to the growth of McCann India and his impact on the Indian advertising industry is legendary and holds even greater promise. Mr Joshi is credited with turning the fortunes of many big brands, the most outstanding recent examples being Coca Cola "Thanda", Nescafe, Perfetti (Chlormint, Happydent), Microsoft, HLL (Pears), MasterCard and local brands such as Dabur and NDTV. He has won more than 300 advertising awards including Gold Lions at Cannes, AdFest Asia, Media Spikes, Cresta, honours at The One Show and Clios and a cache of national awards in India.
Award Forums
Mr Prasoon has represented India on international award forums such as New York Festivals, London International Awards as well as the Clios, D&AD and Cannes juries. His creativity is not limited to advertising but finds expression in other fields as well. He is a well-published author and a famous lyricist for Bollywood blockbusters and popular music charts. All McCann India operations will report to Mr Joshi, who in turn will report to Mr Mistry.
