Chennai, Dec. 15

Nautica, a global lifestyle brand of apparel and accessories for men, women and children, opened its flagship store in the city on Thursday. The store stocks a variety of products ranging from golf umbrellas and terry towels to fine cotton sweaters and casual wear.

Mr Sumeet Yadav, Business Head, Nautica India, said that this was the first Nautica store in the Asia Pacific region to have a home accessory section. The store currently showcases the Winter 2006 collection that has been inspired by classic fall colours and activities. It is located on Khader Nawaz Khan road.

Earlier, the US lifestyle major, VF Corp, which owns the Lee, Wrangler and Nautica brands, picked up 60 per cent stake in a new joint venture with Arvind Brands, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Arvind Mills. The new company called VF Arvind Brands now holds the licence to manufacture and market these brands in India.
