The questioning aspect of "Why" is what we expect from graduates, when they come on board. The importance of "Why" is, it gets answers or solutions.
The fresh graduates are not able to understand the overall importance of the task given to them. The fresher do not understand the requirements of job given to them, and therefore many a times they do not do or get the result of what their boss wants to.
"Learn to look at the macro level of any job and see how this can be related to the overall aspect of the business, in general, and to satisfy the customers, in particular,'' said Mr R. Seshadri, Co-Founder & Executive Director, TAKE Solutions, to the Management Graduates of St. Peter's Engineering College under the aegis of Business Line Club.
He said supply chain management had huge opportunities for employment along with retail. "I can sell more, if my supply chain management is good. Shorter product life cycles and heightened expectations from the customer underline the importance of supply chain management in today's environment."
Today's challenges in supply chain management are competitive markets, pricing pressures, low product differentiation, demanding and intolerant customers and globalisation.
The current trends in supply chain management are non-linear, multiple, externally focused, highly flexible, fully information-driven and customer responsive organisations.
