Madras Medical Mission on Saturday announced plans to set up a 200-bed multi-speciality hospital-cum-nursing college in Chennai. The project is expected to cost Rs 100 crore. The current year is the not-for-profit hospital's silver jubilee year and as part of celebrations, it is holding an Internatinonal Conference of medical professionals next month. Dr Kenneth Kaunda, First President of Republic of Zambia, is expected to speak at the conference.

Other speakers include Prof Per-Gunnar Svensson, Secretary General, International Hospital Federation, France, Prof Aidan Haligan, Chairman of Elison Health, UK, Ms Karen Timmons, President and CEO, Joint Commission Resources Inc, Ms Pamela Garside, Chairman of International Health Summit, USA and Mr Paul Van Ostenberg, Managing Director of Asia Pacific region of Joint Commission International, France.
