Manipur power projects

The Union Minister of Power, Mr Sushilkumar Shinde, laid down the foundation stones for Loktak Downstream Hydroelectric Project (66 MW), a joint venture of the National Hydroelectric Power Corporation and the Government of Manipur at Longzang, and Tipaimukh Hydroelectric Project (1500 MW) being developed by the North Eastern Electric Power Corporation at Churachandpur. The projects will help trigger economic development in the State through the creation of infrastructure and boost industrialisation in Manipur.
