Waiting for restoration

UNDER LITIGATION: The black patches of pollution cannot hide the glory of the magnificent architecture of the Standard Life Assurance Company building at Dalhousie Square in Kolkata, which is owned by a private party now.

Last year, the Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage decided to renovate the building with the help of World Monument Fund but had to withdraw, as the property is under litigation. The building was built in the early years of the last century and is one of the sentinels from the past in the Dalhousie Square area.
