New Products & Services Ace Motors to unveil new electric bike Our Bureau

Pune , Dec. 18 E-coupe is the latest offering from the city-based Ace Motors to join its counterparts, e-sportz and e-trendy. E-bikes are the two-wheelers that run on electric power stores in the rechargeable battery. These e-bikes are being assembled in Pune with the technical assistance from Changtong E Bike Company Ltd of China, Mr Kumar Raval, Partner, Ace Motors. Describing some of the features of e-coupe, Mr Raval said that it would run close to 100 km when fully charged. The charging time would be in the range of 6-8 hours with an input voltage of 220V. Thus the cost of travelling 100 km would be close to Rs 4.50, he noted. E-coupe, which has the similar looks as a scooter, has a weight carrying capacity of 120-140 kg. Available in the combination of four metallic colours - red, purple, silver and black, it is priced at Rs 28,500 (ex-showroom, Pune). The bike is equipped with MCB (Miniature Circuit Breaker) below the seat, which protects the electronics of the bike from getting damaged, especially caused due to over voltage and over current.
ARAI approved
He said the bike has been tested and approved by ARAI (Automotive Research Association of India), Pune and does not require driving license and RTO registration. The bike is ideal for students, ladies and retired citizens. The bike would be first displayed during the Auto Expo 2006 to be held at SSPMS Grounds, Pune between December 20 and December 24. Mr Raval said the company has also expanded its dealer network in of Maharashtra and now has presence in Satara, Sangli, Solapur, Karad, Sangamner, Nashik, Beed, Pandharpur, Akluj, Latur, Usmanabad, Ahmednagar and Akola. It has also begun its Gujarat operations by opening its regional sales office in Ahmedabad. It is opening up dealerships in Raipur in Chhattisgarh and Hyderabad in Andhra Pradesh, he added.
