Airlines Logistics - Human Resources Delhi airport co offers one-time lump sum joining bonus to AAI staff Our Bureau
Take on board Joining bonus ranging from Rs 25,000-60,000. Two increments apart from other benefits.
New Delhi , Dec. 19 Delhi International Airport Ltd (DIAL), the new joint venture company undertaking the modernisation of Delhi airport, has offered a one-time lump sum joining bonus ranging from Rs 25,000 to Rs 60,000 to all the 2,344 employees of Airports Authority of India (AAI) working there. In addition, the DIAL Board on Tuesday also cleared a proposal to offer all AAI general employees two increments on their basic salary, in their current scale, apart from protecting the effect of revision of pay and allowances that are due from January next year. Besides, all existing benefits, designation, welfare measures, general conditions and leave entitlement will remain the same and the employees will be given an opportunity to upgrade their skills to meet future challenges effectively through extensive training. The financial impact of the benefits of the latest offer on DIAL was not immediately made available. The latest proposal exceeds the stipulation laid down in the Operation, Management, Development Agreement (OMDA) that requires DIAL to absorb only 60 per cent of AAI staff at the airport. In a statement, DIAL said it has decided to absorb all AAI employees to allay fears about career continuity and mitigate any impact that a posting outside Delhi may have. DIAL is a joint venture company with participation from the GMR Group, the operators of Frankfurt airport, Fraport, Malaysia Airport, IDF and AAI. Meanwhile, without rejecting the DIAL offer, the Convenor of the Airports Authority of India Employees Union, Mr M.K. Ghoshal, said that the union would not take "cognisance" of the offer as it had not initialled the OMDA agreement.
