Chamber trade fair begins tomorrow

Madurai , Dec. 20

The Chamber Trade Fair 2007, organised by the Tamil Nadu Chamber of Commerce and Industry, will be held at Tamukkam grounds in the city from December 22 till January 8.

The Chamber President, Mr S. Rethinavelu, told presspersons that the fair aimed to cultivate the capacity among traders and industrialists to accept change, work with a competitive spirit and promote exports.

The theme for this year is `Growth of trade and industry — Our passion'. The fair has attracted participation from leading corporates in the country. More than 300 stalls are to be put up.

Besides, in association with the Tamilnadu Council for Enterprises Development, five workshops on `Scope for manufacturing automobile components in southern districts', `Opportunities for setting up franchise-based businesses', `Challenges for Indian retail business,' `Scope for food and herbal processing industries in southern districts', and `Scope for readymade garments manufacturing in southern districts' will be held.
