Rubber expo to provide insight on industry

, The All-India Rubber Industries Association along with the Chemical and Allied Products Export Promotion Council of India and the Ministry of Commerce is organising Asia's largest rubber event, Rubber Expo, at Chennai on January 18-20.

Indian Rubber Expo will provide an ideal opportunity to growers and processors to exchange views and to understand where the world of natural rubber was heading, a press release issued here said. About 1,500 foreign delegates are expected to attend the buyer-seller meet and 42 papers are to be presented by experts from all over the world.

Pavilions from China, Germany, Sri Lanka, and the Rubber Board will be put up at the exhibition and visitors from Africa, Latin America, Europe, the US and the Far-East are expected to participate in the proceedings. Around 10,000 people are expected to attend.

Issues such as the necessity of Indian rubber industry expanding fast with the installation of modern machinery and testing equipments are to be discussed.

The organisers pointed out that the need of the hour was motivate the Indian plantation sector to have a committed view of the global market and to persuade them to procure cheaper latex/rubber from other countries, process it and resell in India or globally.
