Rubber Spot rubber slips on global trend Our Correspondent
Kottayam , Dec. 21 Domestic spot rubber lost ground following a dull closing in global futures. Moreover, the dealers were coming forward to sell since the inflow of the raw material has picked up considerably. Sheet rubber RSS 4 weakened to Rs 88.50 from Rs 89.50 and Rs 89.00 a kg respectively at Kottayam and Kochi. The market suffered all-round losses, while the quotes from major manufacturers were given up to Rs88.50 per kg for sheet rubber.
Futures improve
The futures market turned better on NMCE. The January contract finished at Rs 92.20 ( 91.35 ), February at Rs 94.40 ( 93.07 ), March at Rs 95.70 (94.37 ) and April at Rs 98 ( 96.96) a kg for RSS 4. RSS 4 improved to Rs 91.65 from Rs. 91.31 a kg at its January delivery on MCX . The volumes were 815 ( 1026 ) lots. RSS 3 moved up further to Rs 80.85 from Rs 78.75 a kg at Bangkok. The grade's January futures fell to 210.3 yen ( Rs 79.42 ) against 213.3 yen a kg at TOCOM. Spot prices (Rs/kg) were: RSS-4: 88.50 (89.50); RSS-5: 86.50 (87); ungraded: 82.25 (83.50); ISNR 20 : 86 (86) and latex 60% : 58.40 (57.35).
