Bond prices fall by 12 paise

Bond prices fell by around 12 paise (yields rose by almost one basis point) on tight liquidity. Total traded volumes on the order matching system were at Rs 2,040 crore (Rs 2,225 crore). "The market was range-bound throughout the day and prices moved in the range of 10 paise," said a dealer at a private bank. "It is going to watch the US data on GDP," he added. Dealers said the market was cautious, awaiting inflation figures.

The 7.59 per cent -10 year-2016 paper opened at Rs 100.04 (7.58 per cent YTM) and closed at Rs 99.90 (7.60 per cent YTM) against Rs 100.02 (7.59 per cent YTM) on Wednesday. The 8.07 per cent -11 year-2017 paper opened at Rs 103.37 (7.58 per cent YTM) and ended at Rs 103.28 (7.59 per cent) against Wednesday's Rs 103.35 (7.59 per cent).
