`Ideas, not just money can fuel biz growth'

"It is absolutely possible to make money with ideas, money itself is not required to make money," said Mr C.K. Ranganathan, Chairman and Managing Director of Chennai-based FMCG company CavinKare Pvt Ltd.
Speaking at a Business Line Club lecture organised for the management students of the Meenakshi College for Women, he said one had to win in their thoughts and dreams to succeed.
To be successful, one has to utilise common sense — "it is available in abundance, you have to choose to apply it," he said.
He also spoke of the importance of perseverance.
Success also entails setting and meeting deadlines, he said.
On its way to its current status, CavinKare first aimed to be a Rs 10-crore company and then a Rs 100-crore company by launching more products, employing the right people and improving manufacturing. Today, because of all those actions, it is a Rs 600-crore company and growing, he said.
