The Hindu Metroplus Lifestyle fair begins

The annual The Hindu Metroplus Lifestyle consumer exhibition began at the Codissia Trade Fair complex here on Friday.

The four-day fair was inaugurated by Ms Vanitha Mohan, Managing Trustee of Siru Thuli, the city-based community-oriented environmental activists' forum.

Over 130 product exhibitors, many of them bearing leading national and international brands spread across the wide spectrum of products and services, including automobiles, consumer electronic goods, home appliances, furniture, interior decors, textiles have put up their stalls (numbering over 220) on a display floor-space of 65,000 sq ft.

Leading brands

Among the leading brands present at the fair are the consumer electronics major Samsung, which is also the `presenter' sponsor for the Metroplus Lifestyle show here, the leading silk sari brand RmKV and the city-based consumer goods retailers, Ideal Stores.

The Mumbai-based diamond jewellery group Gitanjali, which is foraying into branded `Maya' gold jewellery in a big way has also made a prominent presence in the Coimbatore edition of the fair, along with the Tirupur-based men's garment brand Classic Polo.

Artisan show

The connoisseurs of arts visiting the exhibition will have the visual fair from Chennai's Artisan, which has for the first time put up their exhibits of artefacts, antiques and heritage manufactured arts in the Coimbatore fair.

Home textiles

National Textile Corporation (NTC) on a revamp mode through induction of new production line at its latest art Coimbatore Murugan Mills is presenting its range of home textiles, including bed linens at the fair.

The visitors to the Lifestyle fair can have treats for their palates from the multi-cuisine restaurant specially put up at the fair grounds. The fair is open between 10.a.m. and 8.30 p.m.
