PNB hikes fixed deposit rates

New Delhi, Dec. 22

Punjab National Bank on Friday announced an increase in interest rates on fixed deposits by 25 to 75 basis points under different time slabs with effect from December 26. The bank has this time round gone in for an extensive revision that covered as many as 10 different time slabs.

For single domestic term deposits that are below Rs 15 lakhs, the interest rate increase include 4.50 to 4.75 per cent per annum for 15 to 29 days, 5 to 5.25 per cent for 46 to 60 days, 6.25 per cent to 7 per cent for 180 days to less than 1 year, 7 to 7.50 per cent for 1 year to less than 2 years, 7 to 7.5 per cent for 2 years to less than three years and 7.50 per cent to 8 per cent for 5 years to 10 years.
