Making tracks to Central Asia

Our Bureau

Multi-modal freight and logistics services provider to CIS and Central Asia, Soyuztranslink (STL), plans to have a presence in India and Iran by opening offices in Mumbai and Bander Abbas in 2007.

In the past one year, the company is believed to have witnessed a rising demand for airfreight and ocean cargo to CIS and Central Asian countries, driven by the growth of oil and gas sectors in those countries.

Traditionally, STL has been strong in airfreight services in Europe, using hubs in Amsterdam and Dubai; however, increasing trade with emerging markets in Asia, particularly China and India, and now other countries in West Asia, has forced the company to expand its operations.
