Taj GVK to invest Rs 100 cr in expansion, renovation

Taj-GVK Hotels on Sunday announced plans to develop two more properties in Hyderabad, while investing about Rs 100 crore in its existing property for renovation and expansion.

The group announced that they have renamed their existing property Taj Residency as Taj Deccan and have thus far invested about Rs 20 crore and plan to expand it by adding about 180 rooms.

The Chief Operating Officer of Business Hotels of The Indian Hotels, Mr Jamshed S. Daboo, said that the transition from Taj Residency to Taj Deccan is part of the extensive refurbishment and renovation plan for the hotel. What started with the new look lobby, lounge and reception with an investment of Rs 20 crore will see additional outlay of Rs 80 crore.

The transformation seeks to be in tune with the changing times and seeks to cater to the global traveller. The cuisine too offers a fusion combination with new flavours, textures and existing dishes.

Addressing a press conference on the Christmas eve, Mr Daboo said that Taj-GVK is in the process of developing two more properties in Hyderabad one at Begumpet and another at Hitec City, while expanding the existing properties.
