Air Cargo States - Karnataka First Flight begins daily service to Bangalore Our Bureau
First Flight will now be able to provide capacity to heavy machinery and large consignments.
Bangalore , Dec. 27 First Flight Couriers, on Wednesday, announced the addition of Bangalore to its recently started aviation operations. With this, the company would be offering direct connectivity between the main trade hubs of the country Chennai, Bangalore, Mumbai and Delhi. Introduction of the daily flight lifts capacity of eight tonnes to Bangalore would also enable First Flight facilitate its customers to connect to out-bound consignment loads in a shorter time. First Flight is also now able to provide airlift capacity to heavy machinery and large consignments.
Key destinations
Bangalore and Chennai are critical trade destinations in the southern part of India, the triggers coming from the revived manufacturing activity in the country, especially automotive and electronics. Leather goods, gems and jewellery and garments have been traditionally strong in his region. With Indian manufacturers now looking to compete with global turnaround delivery schedules, logistics support often becomes the key differentiator for exporters, said Mr R.K. Saboo, Deputy Managing Director of First Flight. "These are also the main hubs of goods movement fuelling the retail boom in the B and C grade cities, as most companies have their distribution hubs in these four cities," he added. First Flight recently announced the setting up of a full-fledged logistics division along with an increase in its service offerings aimed at providing an effective distribution mechanism to the companies to be part of the retail boom.
