Opinion - Letters
Eradicating child labour

A law to bring the unorganised sector under labour laws is long overdue. Those working in this sector are paid a pittance and live in poverty. The Government recently banned child labour in domestic work and catering services. But the menace is a consequence of poverty. Children of those in the unorganised sector are likely to become labourers. By giving the sector an organised status, there is a greater chance of eradicating child labour.
