Thiruvananthapuram , Dec. 29

The Kerala State Electronics Development Corporation (Keltron) has signed an agreement with SAP India to address the automation needs of PSUs as well as put the e-governance initiative of the State Government in top gear.

Mr Minhaj Alam, Managing Director, Keltron, and Mr Balakrishnan Rajagopal, Regional Director-South, SAP India, signed the agreement at a function held here on Friday. Mr Elamaram Kareem, Minister for Industries, was also present.

The MoU signing ceremony also saw Keltron signing its first order with public sector Malabar Cements for implementing the mySAP enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution. The MoU outlines plans for co-operation on various enterprise applications including ERP, human resources, finance, portal and collaboration applications, a spokesperson for Keltron said here.

According to Mr Alan Sedghi, President and CEO, SAP, Indian Sub-continent, public sector institutions are leveraging IT more than ever to quickly adapt to and support the challenges of shrinking budgets and increasing expectations for better service delivery and transparency.
