Chennai , Dec. 29

The Mumbai-based Pride Group of Hotels is likely to inaugurate its first hotel in Chennai in early February, according to Mr S.P. Jain, Chairman of the Group.

The company has invested about Rs 40 crore in the hotel that is positioned as a `boutique business hotel,' said Mr Jain in a telephonic conversation with Business Line.

Located on Poonamalle High Road, the five-star hotel will have 150 rooms and a business centre besides a coffee shop, two restaurants, a health club and a swimming pool. The entire hotel will be provided with Internet connectivity, said Mr Jain.

Bookings for the hotel are likely to begin from the first week of February.

The company has hotels at Ahmedabad, Pune and Nagpur and is planning two more at Bangalore and Goa. These are likely to be completed by early 2008. He did not disclose the Group's investments in these projects.
