Visakhapatnam, Jan. 1

The Indian Commerce Association (ICA) is of the view that commerce education should be strengthened in the country and it should be combined with management studies at the postgraduate level in view of the changing trends in the economy, according to Prof L. Venugopala Reddy, Vice-Chancellor of Andhra University, and President-elect of the ICA.

Briefing the press here on Sunday on the 3-day conference of the ICA, which concluded at the university here on Saturday, Prof Reddy said that most of the speakers underscored the need for professionalising commerce education in the country and to combine it with management studies. "This proposal has been pending for a long time and the time has now come for the State and the Union Government to act on it," he said.
